I think they get back to their sites once in a while, just to show their friends that they also have site and how cool that is. But they don't intend on updating them or something.
If I'm not wrong, keenspace system updated all sites every day, so a load of sites that haven't updated for a year or more, waste resources just like that. (I might be wrong about this thought)
War made a valid point about manga eyes too. Lots of authors add big manga eyes to their characters while not having any connection to manga (or knowledge of manga) whatsoever. If you're making a comic about two guys cussing and beating each other, why do you want them to look cute?
